Jean E. Williams Honored for Three Decades of Intelligence Service
Jean E. Williams speaks German and Russian and has a basic knowledge of two Slavic languages


COLUMBIA, MD, May 15, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Jean E. Williams, Linguist and retired Intelligence Analyst for the United States Department of Defense, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in government intelligence services.

A linguist proficient in Russian, German and English, Jean E. Williams amassed nearly three decades of experience prior to her retirement from the U.S. Department of Defense. As an intelligence analyst, she utilized her expertise in Russian and intelligence analysis to translate information, manage translation issues, and report and document all findings. She holds a bachelor of arts in Russian and a master of arts in Slavic languages and literature from The Ohio State University and is both a certified language analyst and certified intelligence analyst.

In an exclusive interview with Cambridge Who's Who , Ms. Williams recalled the highlight of her career when she met then-President George W. Bush upon his visit to her office to thank its employees for their contributions to counter-terrorist efforts. Saddled with polio, she takes pride in having never let her disability get in the way of her work. She currently serves as the president of the Post-Polio Support Group of Central Maryland and as recording secretary for the National Association of the Physically Handicapped, Inc. She is also a contributor to the National Geographic Society, the National Museum of the American Indian and Smithsonian Institution, to name a few. As she moves forward, Ms. Williams hopes to earn a certification in American Sign Language.
